Tawana R. Parker-Bellamy – a graduate of Spelman College with a B.A. in Drama and a Masters in Teacher in Theatre at Brenau University.  She is married (Torrence) with a wonderful two-year old son (Trenton).  She has been involved in an independent film with Cool People Entertainment called Proud, Mary, as the lead singer in one of the singing groups, the Special Effects Make-up artist and Key Make-up artist. She has done numerous photo shoots, events, and plays involving special effects makeup at Spelman College, Morehouse College, and Clark Atlanta University including Amen Corner, both at the Liberty Theatre and at Spelman College, Steal Away, Sula, Flyin’ West, The Wiz, and Flying Over Purgatory.  Tawana is involed with community theatre as well.  She was in Mary Poppins with The Henry Player and has a minor role in Gypse.  Tawana has designed makeup for performers in and around the Atlanta Area such as Afemo and Elisabeth Omilami, Carol Mitchell-Leon, and Ruby Dee-Davis.  Tawana has been in Amen Corner at the Liberty Theatre, The Wiz at Clark University and Eve Anslers’ Vagina Monologue, which was done at Spelman to help raise money for people against child prostitution.  She has also been involved with numerous films such as Drumline, Boycott, Mercury Rising, Hoodlum, and a music video by Mystikal “Bouncin’ Back”.  Tawana taught at Newton High School in Covington, GA, where she is the Drama Teacher, Auditorium Manager, and Literary Team and One-Act Competition Coach.  Tawana has also revived the programs’ International Thespian Society, where the students are able to receive high honors upon graduation from the school.  She continues to strive to create a loving and safe acting and learning environment that is surrounded by a variety of opportunities to become involved with the craft. Tawana, along with her students created breath-taking settings for their grand opening school dedication, Miss NHS Pageant, and the Teacher of the Year program.  Tawana is currently the Technical Director at Stilwell and will be working closely with the Literary Team this year.  She hopes to continue her vas career in makeup, acting, and teaching and she believes that in order to see it you must believe it...in 3D of course.
